How it works.

Brave Ellie helps organizations to amplify their work and engage others through collaborative, participatory, and community-engaged approaches to storytelling.

The results are impactful, persuasive, and resonant.

1. Project Design

Calla will work with your organization to craft a community-responsive project methodology that understands your needs, fosters inclusivity and radical access, values collective knowledge, promotes collaboration, and prioritizes transformation and disruption. Evaluation, research, and advocacy can form the backbone of your project design. Calla understands the non-profit granting ecosystem and can support your organization in securing funding for your storytelling project.

2. Creative Facilitation and Collaboration

Once you’ve collaborated with Calla on the project design, she will work with your organization and community to carry out your storytelling project. Possible activities that Calla can support and facilitate include collaborative digital storytelling, participatory film making, community mapping, interactive creative workshops and making spaces, story circles, oral history gathering, photo voice projects, public art and exhibitions, zine-making, and radio and podcast storytelling. Each of these practices offers unique ways to amplify voices, foster collaboration, share skills, and enable communities through storytelling. Calla has experience with complex online and hybrid facilitation processes and enjoys thinking through how radical accessibility can be implemented through asynchronous and remote approaches.

3. Knowledge Mobilization

At the completion of the creative making stage of your project, Calla can support your organization in translating and mobilizing the community knowledge gathered in formats that engage a variety of stakeholders, from funders, aligned organizations, potential donors, and supporters. Calla is skilled at producing wraparound digital materials, public facing plain-language documents, collaborative films, interactive websites, and online exhibitions. Calla is also adept at identifying ways in which creative outputs can support future funding and grant activities.
